When race weekend arrives, excitement builds and with it comes a lot of movement in and out of the Otter Race Village. In previous years, we’ve seen how quickly things can get congested: cars lined along narrow roads, muddy tracks churned up, and traffic backlogs that take away from the event atmosphere.
To make this year’s experience smoother for runners, supporters, and crew alike, we’re introducing Easy Transfers, powered by EasyEquities.
How Easy Transfers works
Think of it like a hop-on, hop-off tourist bus system, designed especially for the Otter. We’ve set up a free shuttle service that will run regularly between designated pick-up points and the race village.
- Shuttles are free for all participants and supporters
- A new shuttle will run approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day
- You can hop on at one point and hop off at another for simple and efficient access

- Wednesday, 1 October: 08h30 – 20h30 (last shuttle departs at 20h30)
- Thursday, 2 October: 08h30 – 20h30
- Reduced service of 3 shuttles from 20h30 – 22h00
- Last shuttle from the Race Village back to Nature’s Valley departs at 22h00
- Friday, 3 October: 08h30 – 20h30 (last shuttle departs at 20h30)
- Saturday, 4 October: 08h30 – 20h30
- Reduced service of 3 shuttles from 20h30 – 22h00
- Last shuttle from the Race Village back to Nature’s Valley departs at 22h00
Your Pick-up Points and Park and Ride Zones
Race Village Stop
- Pick up and drop off directly at the Race Village
- Look out for branded signs marking the Easy Transfers bus stop zones
We’ve set up two types of stops:
- Park and Ride Zones (1 & 2): Parking available near the stop
- Pick-up Points (3 & 4): Stops only, with no or very limited parking. Participants staying inside Nature’s Valley are encouraged to walk to these stops
Park and Ride Zone 1
- Grass patch before entering Nature’s Valley
- For participants and family staying outside Nature’s Valley
Park and Ride Zone 2
- Lagoon Dr, between St. George’s Ave and St. Patrick’s Ave
- For participants and family staying both inside and outside Nature’s Valley
Pick-up Point 3
- Dutch Reformed Church (limited to no parking)
- For participants and family staying within Nature’s Valley who can walk to the stop
Pick-up Point 4
- Parking area at public restrooms in front of Blue Rocks Restaurant
- For participants and family staying within Nature’s Valley who can walk to the stop
