EasyTransfers: Getting Around The Otter Race Village

This year marks the 18th edition of the Otter TERREX Trail, presented by EasyEquities, and it’s running The Retto direction: the reverse, west-to-east direction of the route, from Nature’s Valley to Storms River. That means Storms River Camp Site is the Race Village and the finish line, while Nature’s Valley hosts the start line for the Challenge and the Race.

Race week at Storms River brings a lot of movement in a small space: runners, supporters, crew and gear all converging on one camp site at once. Parking fills fast, the roads in and out are narrow, and every extra car on site adds to the congestion. This year, EasyTransfers, powered by EasyEquities, is back to keep things moving.

How it works

EasyTransfers is a free, hop-on hop-off shuttle service connecting three meeting points to the Race Village at Storms River Camp Site.

  • Free for all participants and supporters
  • A shuttle departs approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day
  • Hop on at any meeting point and hop off at another, no fixed seats, no booking needed

Shuttle times

  • Wednesday, 23 September: 08h30 to 20h30
  • Thursday, 24 September: 08h30 to 22h00
  • Friday, 25 September: 08h30 to 20h30
  • Saturday, 26 September: 08h30 to 22h00

Parking

The main parking area at Storms River is right at the Race Village. If it fills up, you’ll be directed to overflow parking at Park’s Shop, about 1.4km away. From there, just hop on an EasyTransfers shuttle to complete the trip.

If you’re heading to the prologue, good news: the access point falls directly on the shuttle route, so no separate transport is needed.

Getting to the start line: Challenge and Race morning transfers

Because The Otter is a point-to-point race from Nature’s Valley to Storms River, both the Challenge and the Race start a full marathon distance away from the Race Village, at Nature’s Valley. On both the Challenge and Race mornings, we will run a dedicated early service from the Race Village straight to the start at Nature’s Valley. This early service is for participants only; supporters should make their own way to Nature’s Valley if they want to be there for the start.

The Challenge, Thursday 24 September

  • 04h30: Bus loading begins; first bus departs for Nature’s Valley
  • 04h45: Last bus departs
  • 05h15: First bus arrives at Nature’s Valley
  • 05h30: Last bus arrives at Nature’s Valley

The Race, Saturday 26 September

  • 05h00: Bus loading begins; first bus departs for Nature’s Valley
  • 05h15: Last bus departs
  • 05h45: First bus arrives at Nature’s Valley
  • 06h00: Last bus arrives at Nature’s Valley

Arrive at your meeting point in good time. Buses run to a tight schedule, so everyone reaches the start line ready to go.

EasyTransfers, powered by EasyEquities, is here to keep Storms River moving all week, so you can focus on the race, not the road.
