This year our base of operations and Otter Race Village will be located at the De Vasselot Campsite, Nature’s Valley. Including; Registration, Prologue Run, Briefings, Finish Line and the After Race Dinners
There is limited accommodation on the Nature’s Valley side of the park. The Otter still has a limited amount of campsites and luxury tents that you can book here through Howler.
These tents can accommodate up to 2 athletes and give you the option to stay right in the park close to Race Village and Finish Line. You might want to book a tent and share with a fellow participant via the Facebook Group – The Otter – The Grail of Trails
Each luxury tent comes equipped with:
- 2 Single beds (15 cm thick high-density mattresses)
- Cotton linen, duvet & pillows
- Side Table & 2 Lights
- 2 Chairs outside the tent
- Ground cover
The Otter through the Howler portal will also allow you to book for your Pre-race dinner and breakfasts should you prefer not to use the self-catering facilities or Braai areas that the campsite offers.
Dassie 10km or the 6km trails
Whether you choose to run the Dassie 10km or the 6km, be assured, every step over rocks, roots, pebbles, through riverbeds and up steep climbs is worth the effort. Racing through the most pristine indigenous forests will offer fantastic views of the river mouth and the ocean and will let every trail runner’s heart jump with joy.
